The incident was due to an incident with memory over-commit on our search backend nodes. Once identified, the issue was promptly corrected and the search service is once again fully operational. Users indexation is slightly delayed and will catch up before 10am UTC.
12 months ago Information LumApps is actively responding to the reported remote code execution vulnerability in the Apache Log4j 2 Java library dubbed Log4Shell (or LogJam). We investigated and took actions for LumApps services that could have been impacted. Here are the results of our investigations: - No critical services in LumApps service was impacted (mainly Python and Go services) - Some minor unexposed services using third party software were upgraded to follow the Log4j recommendations

No information was lost; elements took more time to be created and displayed into LumApps. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

1 year, 6 months ago Up On Sunday, May 30, 2021: environment sites-jp experienced a caching issue that resulted in some sites being down, starting at 23:52:52 UTC, and resolved at 01:42:56 UTC on Monday, May 31. A site caching issue was triggered following the deployment of a new version, once detected the cache was promptly emptied and the faulty version was removed from production. Only two customers were impacted. We are currently working on a new version that avoids such issues to happen again, separating the cache keys.

Root cause An internal certificate wasn't renewed automatically between our backend services without triggering our monitoring system. Remediation and prevention Once identified, this issue was promptly solved at 08:15GMT by updating the faulty certificate. Following the incident, both the alerting and the renewal process have been updated for this certificate.

1 year, 11 months ago Up Following last week’s incident, a complete analysis has been done to identify the root cause of the incident. Here is the timeline of the events: On December 14th at 12:55 PM Google services suffered a global outage that disconnected all the users from Google Workspace. On December 14th at 01:52 PM Google authentication is back but the Google infrastructure is still in degraded mode On December 14th at 01:34 PM Our authentication system received a big amount of authentication requests that led to a downtime. All the disconnecting users from Google Workspace tried to access the LumApps application at the same time and the autoscaling went above the current capacity of the Google AppEngine Datastore. We had to fine-tune it to handle this unusual kind of loads coming from the authentication infrastructure On December 14th at 02:46 PM A workaround is pushed into production and the application is back to normal Our engineering team reworked the authentication module to prevent this kind of incident from happening again. The authentication module is now able to ingest as many requests as needed to avoid any incident.

The load balancer was not working as expected so we are in the process of putting a new load balancer design to prevent this from happening. 3 years, 3 months ago Information Here's the debrief of the incident that occurred last Friday: around 7:00 AM UTC, we released a new version that briefly served some traffic before we rolled it back. We redeployed this version again (using the same version name) and it started to serve all the traffic around 8:30 AM UTC. Some users who loaded the site during the short time when the version was first activated may have had a cache corruption (either at the browser, proxy or CDN level) resulting in the inability to load the site after. Our support and engineering teams were unable to reproduce the issue and we decided to rollback this version around 6:30 PM UTC, resulting in a full fix of the issue, confirmed by users who were seeing it before. We are very sorry about the inconvenience caused by the issue and we took some measures to prevent the cache corruption issue (using different version names) and to ensure we are more responsive to such issues in the future.

For a few hours, starting September 13th around midnight UTC, a vast majority of the users were considered "hidden" and not displayed in directories and lists. A patch was applied September 13th around 8 AM UTC to consider all users as "visible". The issue is now fully resolved as we had to switch back the original "hidden" users to their state (less than 0.5% of the users).

As part of our continued work on improving performances, we rolled out a release on Friday that changed the way we manage favorites on catalog entries. As a side effect, some search queries were more complicated than before, resulting in a massive shift of traffic on a piece of a search engine (designed to handle complex requests only) that is not meant to handle such pikes. We mitigated the issue by limiting the complexity of the queries (from 8 AM UTC to 2 PM UTC) and released a patch that optimized search queries around 2 PM UTC that stabilized the service.
